Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chef Policies.

 


Applicant Agreement:


You acknowledge that you are applying for approval to enter the Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chef Program and confirm that all information provided is truthful and accurate in all respects.



You acknowledge that any false statement or misrepresentation that you make, may result in the revocation of this application and/or approved certification.


You hereby authorise  the Australian Culinary Federation administration for the sole purpose of validating your career to:


- Seek information to verify documents provided


- Investigate employment and education history as set out in your resume


- Personally contact referees as identified in the application form


You release from liability all persons and companies supplying such information and agree to accept the final decision by the Australian Culinary Federation as to your eligibility to be certified.


Committment - You agree to adhere to the:


1. Australian Culinary Code of Practices


2. The policies, terms and conditions of the Australian Culinary Federation  Certified Chef Program


3. You understand an awarded certification is for five years and must be renewed


Privacy Policy:


The information we collect from Certified Chef Program applicants is required as a part of the assessment processes and necessary to be able to approve a candidate into the Certified Chefs Program

The Australian Culinary Federation is committed to protecting  your privacy and as a firm policy we will never give, sell or trade your e-mail address to anyone.


Unless you are informed otherwise, the personal information we hold  that is voluntarily provided on the application form and resume, is only used to establish the creditability of the candidate and is kept confidential, excepting when used to verify the documentation provided by the candidate to support their application.


We contact referees provided by each candidate to discuss their application. Information provided by referees is kept in confidence and will not be used beyond determining the suitability of the candidate to be approved to enter the program.


Personal information will be stored securely to prevent its loss or misuse.


Information may only be disclosed to third parties when required and authorised by law


Refund Policy:


Once a candidate is committed to assessment by requesting this via the Certified Chef Application Form, full payment is required before testing is commenced.


Following payment a candidate can request to the Australian Culinary Federation  Certified Chef Committee for a full or partial refund. This request must be written either by hand or by electronic means. Once received by the Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chef Committee this request will be reviewed and the case will be discussed with the candidate and resolved.

 Process:


1. Candidates attempt the self assessment “ Attitude and Experience” tests at salonculinaire.com
2. Applicants apply for Certified Chef evaluation at the level of self assessed outcomes
3. Approved candidates forward documentation to verify credentials and experience
4. Australian Culinary Federation approves or veto’s application, or places “subject to conditions” on application
5. Approved candidates undergo online knowledge assessment test
6. Australian Culinary Federation evaluates credentials, experience and online test outcomes to determine result
7. Australian Culinary Federation accredits successful candidates and sends certificate and registration details
8. Successful candidates are recorded on the Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chefs Register for five years
9. Candidates may elect to be placed on Certified chef/ Salonculinaire.com website database


Applicants are required to submit:


1. Documents that prove you successfully competed a base qualification equal to a level three apprenticeship in commercial cookery. Eg College certificate - Trade papers etc)


2. A full resume showing your full career to date.


3. Passport size photo


4. Administration fees


5. Other documents are optional, however they assist us in the evaluation.

The Australian Culinary Federation will respond within seven days with an email that:


1. Verifies that you are approved to enter the program
2. The level at which you are permitted to enter the program
3. Request for the remaining outstanding fee: (Applies to Certified Chef de Cuisine Assessment only)
4 Your unique username and password to undertake the online test
5. The date on which you will take your test
6. Assessments and Tests will only be activated when the full fees are paid
7. The photocopies of your application will not be returned
8. Fee includes registered certificate
9. You are approved to be identified on the web database of registered Certified Chefs
10. Your registration is valid for five years


Australian Culinary Federation - Certified Chef Program Board of Studies:

Until such time as the board is in place - The interim Board of Studies  will be Peter Wright - Deb Foreman - George Hill - Paul Moore


Purpose:


The Australian Culinary Federation  Certified Chef Program Board of Studies exists to ensure best practice in marketing, maintenance, integrity, standards, assessment and evaluation of the Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chef Program


Composition:


Shall be constituted of only successful registered Australian Culinary Federation certified chefs

A minimum of four and maximum of six members shall constitute the board

A meeting quorum is 50% of the board

The board shall elect a chairperson from its members

The maximum term of office is 5 years
One member should have a cookery educational background

The board is appointed by the Australian Culinary Federation President

As far as practical the board should have representatives from each category of certification

The board is to meet at least once a year to consider the progress of the Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chef Program

The President or representative of the Australian Culinary Federation shall attend meetings

The Administrative officer shall attend meetings

The Australian Culinary Federation Administrative officer shall take, distribute and keep minutes



Terms of Reference Australian Culinary Federation  Certified Chef Program Board Of Studies:


Responsible to the Australian Culinary Federation President for the quality control and continuous development of the Certified Chef Program

Report by written or verbal format to the Australian Culinary Federation Annual General Meeting

Ensure that the assessment and integrity of the program is maintained

Receive an annual report one month prior to a meeting from the Australian Culinary Federation Administrator on the:


1. Progress of the program


2. The numbers by category certified


3. Positive and negative feedback

Ensure that effective monitoring and evaluation procedures are in place

Receive reports on the outcomes of monitoring and evaluation of the Certified Chef Program and decide on any action to be taken as a consequence, including amendments to assessment procedures

Shall discuss the development of a Certified Chef Program Training course


Shall act as judges in any required practical test

May be called upon to attend any interviews of candidates 

Shall have the authority to change these terms of reference to reflect growth of the program


Shall every two years audit the testing system

These terms of reference shall be maintained on the Australian Culinary Federation Website

Circulated to all members of the Australian Culinary Federation Certified Chef Program Board of Studies
